Online Education Workshops
VTOnline and the Institute for Distance and Distributed Learning are offering a series of workshops to aid professors and graduate students in the development of web-based distance learning courses. The workshops offer an introduction to the facilities and programs that instructors have available to them at Virginia Tech. Beyond that we will learn the skills necessary to produce or migrate a class from your current class materials. We will present and discuss copyright and other legal concerns involved with producing classroom content. The tentative schedule is:
These workshops are intended to provide hands on instruction in many fields relating to online education as well as build support and professional development networks among Virginia Tech Faculty. There also will be support staff available at the workshops to help you to develop and design your course to best meet the needs of you and your students. A typical workshop will be arranged with one half hour of instruction and discussion and one half hour to one and a half hours of building and developing your online classroom. All are encouraged to participate,
